If
there is one thing I’ve learned about marketing over the years,
it’s that it tends to be a problem—or at least a frustration—for
nearly everyone. I’ve given a lot of thought to why that is, and
the conclusion I’ve reached is that it’s about the time. The
majority of writers see marketing as a sideline—almost an
afterthought to the writing itself. If you’ve had experience with
any kind of a sales-oriented business, you know that marketing the
product has to be at the center of everything you do. The same is
true with writing. Until you reach the point where you give it the
time it deserves, you will continue to struggle with the marketing
process.
