From James N. Watkins:
Good news As of September 1, I’m now associate acquisitions editor for Wesleyan Publishing House. I have so enjoyed working with you on Vista and would love to consider your book proposals for WPH. Our writers guidelines are at: www.wesleyan.org/wg.
Now the bad news. I have so enjoyed working with each of you on Vista in recent years and for some of you, way back in the 80s when I was editorial director over Vista, Light from the Word and In Touch. Over Vista’s years of publication (it’s way older than me), writers such as you have been able to minister to thousands of readers. It’s been a great privilege to serve alongside you in the making of disciples. As you might be aware, changes in the needs of the Church over recent years have brought about some needed changes. One of those is Vista. While we will continue to provide the Church with this resource, we will no longer be needing new articles. As we begin a new curriculum cycle, we will draw from a wealth of contents we already own while integrating some new features. Unfortunately this means we will not be soliciting new writing for this particular publication.
Always end with good news. We would love for you to consider writing for our other Sunday school publication, Light from the Word. Visit www.wesleyan.org/wg for more information if you are interested in devotional writing.
Again, it has been a joy to work with you each quarter as we produced Vista. I couldn’t have done it without you! And I hope you will to submit to Light from the Word and consider sending me a book proposal that “suits our editorial needs at this time.”
