Kregel Publications announced today that Dr. Fred Mabie is leaving his position as director of Kregel Academic and Ministry Books, effective August 31. Publisher Dennis Hillman noted that "Fred has been a tremendous asset to our publishing program, and many of the titles and authors he acquired will be primary resources for years to come. We wish him all the best as he pursues other opportunities." Kregel Publications has also added a new member to its academic team, Dr. Herb Bateman. Bateman who was most recently professor of New Testament at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, began work with the company on August 4. Dr. Bateman will serve as acquisitions editor for Kregel Academic and Ministry Books. Hillman noted that, "Herb is no stranger to Kregel, having been one of our long-time authors. He is an experienced academic who is also very involved in encouraging and equipping local pastors. We look forward to the many exciting new resources that he will develop and oversee."
